Consultation and Treatment

Muscle relaxing injections are a safe and reliable treatment. Prior to treatment all patients are required to complete a medical history form and consent form. There is ample opportunity to ask any questions you are not sure about.

During treatment the Doctor administers small amounts of botulinum toxin to the targeted muscle using an ultra fine needle.

The results of the treatment are usually visible within 3-14 days. After 3-4 months the results will fade and return to their former state. Repeated treatments weaken the muscles and can lead to prolonged effects and less frequent treatments.

Maintenance treatments are required if you wish to maintain the results.

Patients should avoid alcoholic beverages before treatment and schedule treatment for at least 2 weeks before any important events.

After your treatment your Doctor will go through aftercare advice with you to maximise your treatment benefits.

You can resume normal activities immediately after the appointment and drive yourself home or return to work.

Exercise should be avoided for 4-6 hours after the treatment and the area should not be massaged for at least 24 hours.

It is safe to fly after the treatment however we recommend you should wait at least 48h before a long haul flight.

We do advise a review appointment  2 weeks after your first appointment however they are generally not required for subsequent appointments.
